04 Nov 2020; MEMO: Tunisia’s Minister of Health has confirmed that about 3,000 Tunisian doctors living abroad have been asked to return to the country temporarily to help in the struggle against Covid-19. Faouzi Mehdi pointed out that volunteer physicians could be flown to Tunisia via the state airline.

Mehdi explained that his ministry is seeking to attract 300 doctors with the necessary training and skills to cope with the crisis.

04 Nov 2020; MEMO: More than 80 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails have contracted coronavirus, the Wa’ed Association for Prisoners and Liberated Prisoners said in a press conference in Gaza today.

The detainees are being held in the Gilboa prison and include prisoners who have existing medical conditions and the elders.

New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the city has seen a jump in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the last few days and it can be called a "third wave".

Kejriwal said people do not need to panic and the government was monitoring the situation regularly.

"Delhi has witnessed a jump in the number of COVID-19 cases. I think we can call it a third wave," he told reporters.

02 Nov 2020; MEMO: Saudi Arabia has allowed international pilgrims to perform Umrah after a seven-month hiatus due to the coronavirus outbreak, reported Anadolu Agency.

The move was part of gradual Saudi measures to ease restrictions imposed to stem the spread of the virus in the kingdom.

Jaipur, Nov 2 (PTI) Rajasthan will be the first state in the country to enact a law making it compulsory to wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Monday.

The law will be enacted on Monday, he said in a tweet, describing mask as a "vaccine" to protect against coronavirus.

An amendment bill was introduced in the Assembly on Saturday to make it mandatory to wear masks while using public and private transport as well as for attending political and social programmes.
