MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday he had experienced minor side effects from the coronavirus vaccine after receiving the first shot on Tuesday, the Interfax news agency reported, citing a TV interview.

“I woke up the next morning after the vaccination and it seemed to me I felt slight pain in muscles. I took a thermometer... my temperature was normal,” he told the state Rossiya 1 TV channel.

He said he also had an uncomfortable feeling on the site of the injection.

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia increased by 8,885 per day to 4,510,744, the federal operational headquarters for the fight against the new infection told reporters on Saturday.

In relative terms, the increase in the number of cases was 0.2%.

The lowest growth rates were recorded per day in the Republic of Tyva (0.01%), Magadan Region (0.02%), Jewish Autonomous Region (0.05%).

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Belarus authorities warned on Saturday that anyone participating in protests is liable to criminal prosecution, as armoured vehicles and police buses moved into the centre of Minsk ahead of an expected new round of protests.

Opposition figures, who have led demonstrations against President Alexander Lukashenko since an election they deemed rigged in August last year, have recently called on the public to ramp up protests once again, after a two-month lull.

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/: Russia’s Il-112V light military transport plane will make its second test flight from the Voronezh Aviation Plant’s airfield on March 30, an aircraft industry source has told TASS.

"Low-frequency tests of the plane were completed in late January 2021. The date of the second flight is March 30," the source said.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Friday it would not respond to a call by jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny’s wife to have her husband freed to receive urgent medical treatment.

Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of President Vladimir Putin’s most prominent critic, called on Thursday for her husband to be immediately released and treated by doctors he trusted after his lawyers said he was in pain and being denied proper healthcare.

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/: The coronavirus situation in Moscow is stable but senior citizens are falling ill more often now, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Thursday.

"We have reached a high level of immunization of people, it was gradual and steady, and we had the vaccination campaign on top of that. The situation is indeed stable today. We see that the share of infections has grown higher among seniors," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
