Ukraine’s Zelensky says Russia’s Sputnik V rejected for alleged lack of efficacy guarantee

KIEV, February 8. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has explained his country’s refusal to use Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus jab, saying that the vaccine allegedly has no proof of efficacy, while Ukrainian citizens "are not guinea pigs," he told reporters Monday.

KIEV, February 3. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has assured that he supports freedom of speech but opposes "propaganda financed by the aggressor country." He thus commented on the decision to crack down on three TV channels and their owner, lawmaker Taras Kozak.

"Sanctions is a difficult decision. Ukraine strongly supports Freedom Of Speech," he wrote in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

Hungary, Ukraine top diplomats aim to defuse dispute over minority rights

KYIV (Reuters) - The foreign ministers of Hungary and Ukraine were expected to meet in Kyiv on Wednesday for talks on repairing badly strained relations but Budapest said its diplomatic missions in the ex-Soviet republic had received threats of “bloodletting” violence.

The two countries are at loggerheads over the right of some 150,000 ethnic Hungarians living in Transcarpathia in western Ukraine to use their native tongue, especially in education. The region borders Hungary.

Ukrainian FM, OSCE chairperson discuss conflict resolution in Donbas

KIEV, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks regarding the conflict resolution and the security situation in the East of Ukraine with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office Ann Linde during her working visit to Ukraine, the press service of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Kuleba noted the importance of the OSCE's effective involvement in responding to security challenges in Europe, including the ongoing conflict in the East of Ukraine.

Donetsk, Lugansk to unilaterally hand group to detainees to Ukraine

Transit of Russian gas to EU through Ukraine down 38% to 55.8 bln in 2020

KIEV, January 2. /TASS/: Transit of Russian gas to Europe through the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (Gas TSO of Ukraine) amounted to 55.8 bln cubic meters in 2020, which is 38% lower than the previous year, press service of the operator reported on Saturday.

"In 2020, Gas TSO of Ukraine allocated 55.8 bln cubic meters of gas in transit to Europe, which is 38% less than in 2019. The volume of gas transported from Europe to Ukraine for the same period amounted to 15.9 bln cubic meters, which is 12% more compared to 2019," the company’s statement said.

Ukraine’s envoy to Contact Group threatens Russia with sanctions

KIEV, December 6. /TASS/: Former Ukrainian President and head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Contact Group for settlement in Donbass Leonid Kravchuk threatened Russia with new sanctions over the situation in the region.
