Israel continues pounding Gaza as ceasefire talks fail

13 May 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation fighters have carried out six airstrikes across the besieged Gaza Strip since early Saturday morning as ceasefire talks stall.

Following a security assessment on Friday evening, Israeli security officials recommended the end of the Israeli offensive on Gaza.

The security assessment came after 13 hours of calm, without rocket fire from Gaza nor airstrikes and artillery shelling by Israel.

Israeli Military Instructed To Continue Striking Gaza Amid Violence Escalation

JERUSALEM, May 12 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said last night that, Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip will “continue as long as necessary,” amid the worst spate of violence between Israel and the Palestinians in months.

Netanyahu made the remarks, after a security assessment in the Defence Ministry in Tel Aviv with Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant, Shin Bet intelligence agency’s director, Ronen Bar, army chief, Herzi Halevi, and other top security officials.

Israel ready to fight Iran on multiple fronts, says Netanyahu

10 May 2023; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that Israel is ready to fight Iran on multiple fronts. He made his comment after launching Operation Arrow and Shield against the besieged Gaza Strip, killing 15 Palestinians — including women and children — and wounding 22 others.

"Ninety-five per cent of Israel's security problems come from Iran," claimed Netanyahu. This was a reference to an alleged Iranian attempt to start a multi-front campaign against Israel.

9 May 2023; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, informed American officials who visited Israel that he was planning to attack Gaza Strip, Israeli media revealed on Tuesday.

This happened, according to Kan public broadcaster, during a meeting with two senior Biden administration officials that took place one day before the attack.

Israel deploys missile defence system near Gaza

10 May 2023; MEMO: Following Israeli attacks that killed 22 people, including women and children, in the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the occupation army deployed the Iron Dome Missile Defence system to counter rockets from Palestinian resistance groups. According to Israeli media reports, thousands of Jewish settlers were evacuated from the settlements around Gaza.

Israel evacuates communities, bracing for possible Gazan retaliation

JERUSALEM, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Israel was on high alert on Tuesday as it prepared for retaliatory rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip after a series of Israeli airstrikes killed militants and civilians in the coastal Palestinian enclave.

Israel's state-owned Kan TV news reported that over 2,000 Israelis have been evacuated from communities near the enclave, as a precaution against possible rocket attacks launched by Gazan militants at nightfall.

EU rejects Ben-Gvir's participation in Europe Day ceremony

08 May 2023; MEMO: European Union announced on Sunday its opposition to the participation of Israeli far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in Europe Day ceremony to be held in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, Israeli media reported.

According to Israeli Channel 12, the EU delegation told the Israeli Foreign Ministry that the bloc does not want Ben-Gvir's presence as the Israeli representative at its ceremony because of his far-right and racist political views.
