KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s two-day working visit to Malaysia starting today is set to further enhance and solidify long-standing relations between the two nations.

Khan’s second visit here since his ascension to the prime minister’s post in August 2018 would include a high-level delegation from Islamabad including Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Defence Production Minister Zubaida Jalal.

The allegations came to light on Friday when Airbus agreed a record $4 billion settlement with France, Britain and the United States. Prosecutors said it had bribed public officials and hidden payments as part of a pattern of worldwide corruption.

SETIU, Jan 31 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Aid totalling RM107,235 has been channelled from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry (MOA) to 307 farmers impacted by natural disasters in Terengganu last year.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, said 47 people whose farms were damaged by calamities like drought and flood received RM92,235 from the ‘Tabung Bencana Tanaman Padi’ (padi planter’s disaster fund) to get them back on their feet.

“For 260 people whose homes were damaged by flood, RM15,000 was given by the National Farmer’s Organisation (NAFAS).

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The government is evaluating the need for an economic stimulus package and is ready to launch the measures to deal with the effects of the 2019 novel coronavirus if necessary, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said.

He said it is still early for the government to take the action as it needs to study and analyse the extent of the impact of coronavirus.

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 29 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia is prepared to bring home its citizens in Wuhan following the outbreak of the new 2019 novel coronavirus in the city if it gets the green light from the Chinese government, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced.

He said the Malaysian government will negotiate with the Chinese government on this matter soon.

At present, there are approximately 78 Malaysian citizens in Wuhan.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (NNN-XINHUA) – Malaysian authorities said today (Saturday) that, the first three cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed in the southern Johor state, bordering Singapore.

The infected individuals are Chinese nationals and close relatives of a 66-year-old man who had tested positive for the disease in Singapore, namely his wife and two grandchildren, whose samples were tested positive, Malaysian Health Minister, Dzulkefly Ahmad, said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia’s improvement in the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2019 shows the effectiveness of various anti-corruption efforts and institutional reform initiatives by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government throughout 2019.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong said these initiatives include the introduction of The National Anti-Corruption Plan 2019-2023 (NACP) which outlines 22 strategies with 115 anti-corruption initiatives to combat corruption in all sectors across the country.
