Israel jets fire several airstrikes against Gaza Strip

04 Nov 2022; MEMO: Israeli aircraft have fired several airstrikes against the Gaza Strip this morning, resulting in a power outage in some areas.

According to an Israeli army spokesman, the bombs came in response to the launching of rockets against Israel from Hamas.

However, there has been no immediate claim of responsibility.

The Israeli military claimed that four rockets were fired from Gaza, three of which did not reach Israeli territory, while one rocket was intercepted by air defence systems.

First Palestinian woman jailed by Israel dies

04 Nov 2022; MEMO: Palestinians yesterday mourned Fatima Bernawi, the first woman to be imprisoned by Israel, who had died in Egypt at the age of 83 yesterday, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

The Fatah movement in Egypt issued an official statement mourning Bernawi, saying she had died following years of resistance during which she was an exceptional model for Palestinian women.

Israeli Election Would Not Produce A Partner For Peace: Palestinian PM

RAMALLAH, Nov 3 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Ishtaye, yesterday said that, the results of the Israeli parliamentary elections, would not produce a peace partner with the Palestinians.

In a statement from the prime minister’s office, Ishtaye said, the rise of extremist religious right-wing parties in the Israeli elections, “is a natural result of the growing manifestations of extremism and racism in Israeli society, from which the Palestinian people have been suffering for years.”

As Israel’s far right parties celebrate, Palestinians shrug

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — The apparent comeback of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the dramatic rise of his far-right and ultra-Orthodox allies in Israel’s general election this week have prompted little more than shrugs from many Palestinians.

“It’s all the same to me,” Said Issawiy, a vendor hawking nectarines in the main al-Manara Square of Ramallah, said of Netanyahu replacing centrist Yair Lapid and poised to head the most right-wing government in Israel’s history.

Israel approves decision to demolish school east of Ramallah

02 Nov 2022; MEMO: An Israeli court has approved a decision by Israeli authorities to demolish a school in a Palestinian village near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, Ma'an news agency reported yesterday.

This came as a number of Palestinian residents of the village of Ein Samiya had appealed against a previous order by the Israeli District Court in Jerusalem that stipulated the immediate demolition of the only school in the village.

Palestine ratifies Gaza gas deal with Egyptian companies

01 Nov 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Authority ratified a framework agreement yesterday to develop the Gaza Marine gas field with Egyptian companies.

"We have ratified the framework agreement for the [Gaza Marine] gas field concluded between the Palestinian Investment Fund and the consortium of Egyptian investment companies," explained the PA. "The subsequent detailed agreements will be presented later to the Palestinian Council of Ministers."

01 Nov 2022; MEMO: Almost 1,200 attacks were carried out against Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces and Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank in October, a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority has revealed.

Palestinian Authorities Call For Stopping Israel’s Nuclear Programmes

RAMALLAH, Nov 1 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, yesterday called for stopping and destroying Israel’s nuclear programmes, to establish a nuclear-weapon-free zone.

Al-Maliki made the appeal, in response to the adoption by the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, of a resolution submitted by Egypt, urging Israel to get rid of its nuclear weapons.

Israel bans Palestinian farmers from their land, destroy 180 olive tre

31 October 2022; MEMO: Israeli settlers razed 180 olive trees belonging to Palestinians today in the villages of Tarqumiyah and Qaryut, located northwest of Hebron and Nablus, reported Arab48.

This comes in addition to the Israeli occupation forces imposing a ban on Palestinian farmers in Beit Furik, based in eastern Nablus, from picking olives, just hours before the farm owners were due to harvest their crop.
