SINGAPORE: ILO Asia-Pacific meeting agrees to bolster efforts to achieve social justice, decent work for all

SINGAPORE, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Delegates at the Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) of the International Labor Organization (ILO) agreed here on Friday to bolster efforts to achieve social justice and decent work for all.

The Singapore Statement released at the closing ceremony said that since the 16th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting in Bali, Indonesia, in December 2016, the Asia and the Pacific and Arab states regions have continued to experience transformations in the world of work and have been subject to unprecedented crises.

SINGAPORE, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The International Labor Organization (ILO) opened its Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) in Singapore on Tuesday to discuss employment and the future of work.

The event comes at an important juncture for the world of work as the region faces multiple challenges, including the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic compounded by the global food, energy and finance crises, the ILO said.

Singapore to see new wave of COVID-19 infections: health minister

SINGAPORE, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Singaporeans should expect a new wave of COVID-19 infections with more people traveling and due to the upcoming year-end festivities, the Straits Times website quoted Health Minister Ong Ye Kung as saying on Sunday.

"There is bound to be more infections but it is not something we have not seen before. This year alone, we have already seen three infection waves," he said.

Singapore reports 817 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 817 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total tally to 2,164,689.

A total of 143 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 10 of them held in intensive care units, according to statistics released by the country's Ministry of Health.

Singapore recorded no new deaths from COVID-19 on Monday, leaving the total death toll unchanged at 1,702.

Singapore's economy grows 4.4 pct on year in Q3

SINGAPORE, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry announced on Friday that based on advance estimates, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.4 percent year on year in the third quarter of 2022, easing slightly from the 4.5 percent growth in the previous quarter.

On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted basis, Singapore's economy grew by 1.5 percent in the third quarter, a turnaround from the 0.2 percent contraction in the second quarter.

Malaysia fully committed towards achieving objective of CPTPP

SINGAPORE, Oct 8 (NNN-Bernama) — Malaysia is fully committed towards achieving the objective of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in deepening regional economic integration and building upon the rule base multilateral trading system.

Of the new cases, 444 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 6,702 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 434 were local transmissions and 10 were imported cases. Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 6,454 local transmissions and 248 imported cases.

Singapore Reported 1,410 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Aug 30 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 1,410 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 1,834,190.

Of the new cases, 198 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 1,212 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 180 were local transmissions and 18 were imported cases.

Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 1,128 local transmissions and 84 imported cases.
