SINGAPORE, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The organization of the so-called "Summit for Democracy" is part of a multi-faceted campaign by the United States to put China in a negative light, former Singaporean Foreign Minister Gorge Yeo has said.

"This is an information war for global public opinion which China has to fight. It is not a physical war but a battle for hearts and minds," said Yeo.

The local Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao on Thursday carried a report on an interview with George Yeo, which was originally published by the English version of the Global Times.

SINGAPORE, Dec 6 (NNN-Bernama) — One more imported COVID-19 case in Singapore has tested preliminarily positive for the Omicron variant.

The case is currently recovering in an isolation ward at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), said the republic’s Health Ministry (MOH) in its daily update on COVID-19 last night.

Labelled as Case 273611, MOH said the third case is a 37-year-old male Singapore permanent resident who arrived here from South Africa on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ479 on Dec 1.

Singapore, Nov 26 (PTI Singapore will restrict entry of people with recent travel history to seven African countries after reports that a potentially more contagious COVID-19 variant may be circulating there, the Ministry of Health said on Friday.

From 11.59 PM (local time) on Saturday, all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors with travel history within the last 14 days to Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe will not be allowed to enter Singapore or transit here.

SINGAPORE, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) grew for the 10th consecutive month in September, and the year-on-year growth expanded from 2.7 percent in August to 12.3 percent, Enterprise Singapore, a government agency, announced on Monday.

The electronic NODX expanded by 14.4 percent year on year in September, extending the 16.7-percent increase in the previous month. Meanwhile, the non-electronic NODX grew by 11.7 percent in September, a reversal from the 1.4 percent decline in August.

SINGAPORE, Oct 8 (NNN-Bernama) — Singapore and South Korea have agreed to jointly launch Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTLs), which will start from Nov 15, 2021, according to the Singapore Ministry of Transport.

The jointly launched VTLs will be the first of its kind between two major aviation hubs in Asia and build on these longstanding relations to safely revive cross-border air travel and people-to-people flows.
