30 Mar 2021; MEMO: The head of the Mesha Centre for Studies and Human Rights in Jordan has revealed that Britain has still not returned thirty Stone Age statues that were taken for restoration in 1990. According to Daifallah Hdeithat, the statues were supposed to be returned to Jordan within two years.

Turkey, Azerbaijan to start passport free travel in April

30 Mar 2021; MEMO: Turkish and Azerbaijani nationals will be able to travel passport-free between the two countries from Thursday, Anadolu Agency reported Turkey's Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

According to the report, citizens of Turkey and Azerbaijan travelling directly between the two countries will be able to do so without needing their passports, using their ID cards instead.

Asia's largest tulip garden in Kashmir opens for public

Srinagar, Mar 25 (PTI) Asia's largest tulip garden overlooking the famous Dal Lake here in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir was thrown open to the public on Thursday, marking the beginning of the new tourism season in the valley.

Formerly known as Siraj Bagh, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden was opened in 2008 by then chief minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state Ghulam Nabi Azad.

11 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israel's Minister of Intelligence has said that Egypt is doing everything possible to make Sinai safe for Israeli tourists, local media have reported. Eli Cohen made his comments during meetings with Egyptian Deputy Intelligence Minister Nasser Fahmi in the Sinai resort of Sharm El-Sheikh earlier this week.

Israel to double number of Israel tourists to Morocco

Israel's new Chargé d'Affaires to Morocco David Govrin confirmed that his government expects direct flights between Israel and Morocco to start within two months.

"An agreement has been reached between the two countries, and we are currently consulting about the procedures," Govrin said in an interview with the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan), confirming that the number of Israeli tourists to Morocco will double.

"All Israeli airlines companies have requested to operate flights to Morocco, in addition to Royal Air Maroc."

2,500-year-old Aphrodite temple discovered in Turkey

02 Jan 2021; AA: A team of Turkish scientists and archaeologists discovered the remains of a 2,500-year-old Aphrodite Temple in the Urla-Cesme peninsula in Turkey's west.

As a result of screening an area of 1,600 square meters that covers parts of Urla, Cesme and Seferihisar districts of Izmir, 35 pre-historic era human settlements, including 16 from the late Neolithic period, were uncovered.
