Irish auto parts manufacturer leaves Ukraine, relocates to Morocco

06 April 2022; MEMO: An Irish factory which specialises in electrical parts and car cables has decided to suspend its activities in Ukraine and relocate to other countries, including Morocco, the Moroccan television website SNRTnews reported.

According to the station, Aptiv, which is based in Dublin, will move production to Poland, Romania, Serbia and Morocco.

"The process of moving production outside Ukraine will take more than six weeks," it added.

French-Palestinian lawyer sues Israel's spyware maker in French courts

06 April 2022; MEMO: French-Palestinian human rights defender, Salah Hamouri, yesterday filed a complaint in France against notorious Israeli spyware maker Pegasus for spying on his mobile phone, Amnesty International revealed.

Hamouri filed the complaint together with the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the Human Rights League (LDH).

Killings of Ukrainian civilians could bring more sanctions

BUCHA, Ukraine (AP) — Police and other investigators walked the silent streets of ruined towns around Ukraine’s capital, documenting widespread killings of unarmed civilians and other alleged war crimes by Russian forces that could draw tougher Western sanctions as soon as Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has kept up demands for war-crimes trials for Russian troops and their leaders, while warning they were regrouping for fresh assaults on Ukraine’s east and south.

BERLIN, April 5. /TASS/: Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine has already caused three main consequences: ‘awakening’ of the EU, ‘resurrection’ of NATO and cohesion of the Ukrainian nation, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in an interview for Die Welt, published Tuesday.

"It [operation] has caused awakening on three directions. First, it has reinforced the Ukrainian nation," Le Drian said. "Second, it has led to an awakening inside the EU."

Kremlin spokesman slams expulsion of Russian diplomats as shortsighted step

Ukrainian president highlights need to continue talks with Russia

KIEV, April 5. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that talks with Russia should be continued, as he himself said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists.

"It’s impossible to just say: ‘Let’s not talk anymore.’ It’s the easiest position, it’s the easiest thing to say, ‘I won’t talk with you’," he pointed out. "The hardest thing is to talk," Zelensky added.

No scenario of Russia's exclusion from OSCE, says envoy

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/: No scenario for the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the OSCE is envisaged, as there are no such rules in the organization, Russia's permanent representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich said during a Rossiya-24 TV broadcast on Tuesday.

"No, such a scenario is not envisaged, because there are no such norms and rules in the procedures of our organization. There is a consensus rule on which the entire organization is based," he replied to the relevant question.

West ‘shut eyes, ears with blinds,’ unwilling to hear Russia’s points on Bucha — Kremlin

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/: Russia systematically explains its position on the situation in Bucha, but the collective West "shut its eyes and ears with blinds" and is not willing to listen, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday.

He noted that, previously, the Russian position was "rather systematically explained" by Permanent Representative to the UN Vasiliy Nebenzya and by the Ministry of Defense.

UK's Johnson calls on Russians to share truth about Ukraine 'atrocities'

LONDON, April 5 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a video appeal to Russians on Tuesday, calling on them to share reports about "atrocities" committed by their troops in Ukraine, saying if people knew the truth they would not support the war.

The United States and European countries, including Britain, have accused Russia of war crimes after the release of graphic images of civilian deaths and mass graves in the Ukrainian town of Bucha, outside Kyiv, over the weekend.
