Iran Welcomes Syria’s Return To Arab League

TEHRAN, May 9 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran welcomes Syria’s return to the Arab League (AL), said the Iranian Foreign Ministry, yesterday.

At a weekly press conference in Tehran, the ministry’s spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, congratulated Syria in regaining its place and its seat in the AL. He attributed the success to the “decisive victory” of Syria and the resistance front in the fight against “terrorism” in the country, and people’s support for the Syrian government.

Iran determined to ditch US dollar in trade: CBI governor

Tehran, IRNA – De-dollarization is a strategic policy pursued by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), says CBI Governor Mohammadreza Farzin.

He made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammad Al Yousef where the two sides explored ways for further enhancement of bilateral trade.

Iran committed to producing 10 GW of nuclear electricity

Tehran, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says that the Islamic Republic is committed to expanding its nuclear electricity sector to reach a generation capacity of 10 gigawatts (GW).

Mohammad Eslami said on Monday that Iran will make efforts to attract foreign investment into its nuclear electricity sector, adding that a budget law for the calendar year to March 2024 projects construction of nuclear power plants with reliance on domestic and foreign investments.

Iran: Opportunity to revive JCPOA not always there; deputy FM

Iran successfully tests home- made rocket with thermobaric warhead

08 May 2023; MEMO: The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Ground Force successfully tested on Sunday the locally manufactured Fajr-5 missile, which is equipped with a thermobaric warhead, Iranian Tasnim news agency reported.

The agency said experts at the Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organisation of the IRGC Ground Force, have developed the Fajr-5 missile; a 333 mm rocket, whose guided version, dubbed 'Fajr-5C', had been already delivered to the IRGC Ground Force units.

Tehran, IRNA – President Ebrahim Raisi says that Iran has exported over $50 billion worth of goods in the Iranian calendar year 1401 (March 20, 2022, to March 20, 2023), which was a record in the past four decades.
