Israel strikes in Syria will continue, military official says

10 March 2022; MEMO: Israel's operations against Iranian military activity in Syria will continue as needed, an Israeli military official announced yesterday.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that his army would continue "to thwart "terrorist acts that enemies [Iran] are trying to intensify," referring to the killing of two Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) officers in Syria in recent days.

Zelenskiy asks to address Israel's Holocaust museum on Ukraine crisis

JERUSALEM, March 10 (Reuters) - Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has asked to address Israel's main Holocaust museum, Yad Vashem, about Russia's invasion of his country, during which both sides have invoked the Nazi genocide.

Yad Vashem said in a statement on Thursday it would discuss the proposal with Ukraine's ambassador to Israel on Sunday. The Ukrainian embassy could not immediately be reached for comment.

Israel rejects Ukraine's criticism of Russia flights

10 March 2022; MEMO: Israel has said that it will not tolerate criticism from Ukrainian officials who accuse the occupation state of accepting money "soaked in Ukrainian blood" in reference to ongoing flights to Russia by national airline El Al.

According to Channel 12, Israel warned Ukraine that it will not continue its attempts to mediate between Kyiv and Moscow if officials continue to attack Tel Aviv publicly.

Israel escalates crimes against Palestinians as world turns to Ukraine

10 March 2022; MEMO: A member of the PLO's Executive Committee said on Wednesday that Israel is escalating its crimes and violations against Palestinians as the eyes of the world turn to Ukraine. Saleh Rafat made his comment as the people of occupied Palestine mourn those killed by Israel recently in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus and Burqa.

Russian oligarchs are moving to Israel

08 March 2022; MEMO: At least seven rented private jets are suspected of carrying wealthy Russian oligarchs to Israel in an effort to escape sanctions imposed on Moscow.

According to the Times of Israel, the planes originate from a company in Turkey that provides jets for hire in Europe.

Tracking data showed the planes made trips to Moscow and St. Petersburg, then from those cities to Tel Aviv.

One third of hi-tech workers in Israel are women: report

JERUSALEM, March 8 (Xinhua) -- One third of workers in the Israeli hi-tech industry are women, according to an annual status report issued by the Israel Innovation Authority on the occasion of the International Women's Day.

Only 22.6 percent of senior executives in the Israel's hi-tech industry are female and 9.4 percent of the chief executive officers who founded startup companies in Israel between 2010 and 2021 were women, according to the report.

"Today, in the Bennett-Lapid-Gantz government, there is only weakness, weakness, and more weakness," Netanyahu told a Likud party meeting, referencing Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, his coalition partner and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Minister of Defence Benny Gantz.

Israeli troops demolish homes of Palestinian attackers

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military said Tuesday it has demolished the homes of two Palestinians accused of carrying out a deadly shooting attack in the occupied West Bank last year.

The residences of Mohammed Jaradat and Jit Jaradat in the West Bank were demolished Monday, the military said. The men are accused of shooting at a car driving near the outpost of Homesh, killing a Jewish seminary student and wounding two others.

Israel will continue mediate between Moscow, Kiev even if chances low: Bennett

JERUSALEM, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Sunday that his country will continue to mediate between Moscow and Kiev even if the prospects for success are slim.

"We will continue to assist as needed," Bennett said in broadcast remarks at the start of his weekly cabinet meeting. "Even if the chance is not great -- as soon as there is even a small opening, and we have access to all sides and the capability."

Ben & Jerry's is sued by Israeli ice cream maker over boycott

03 March 2022; MEMO: Ben & Jerry's was sued on Thursday by its long-time Israeli ice cream manufacturer, which said the company illegally severed their 34-year relationship after halting sales in Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, Reuters reports.

Avi Zinger said Ben & Jerry's refused to renew the license for his American Quality Products Ltd because he would not abide by the company's decision to stop selling its products in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and parts of East Jerusalem.
