Israel deploys new advanced missile, aircraft detection system

24 March 2022; MEMO: Israeli military on Tuesday received advanced missile and aircraft detection systems from the Defence Ministry, deploying it in the north of the country, local media reported.

The device is a massive balloon equipped with an advanced missile and aircraft detection radar-based system, the Times of Israel reported.

Arab attacker kills four in Israel and is fatally shot, police say

JERUSALEM, March 22 (Reuters) - An Arab assailant killed at least four people in Israel's southern city of Beersheba on Tuesday in the deadliest such attack in years, before he was fatally shot by a passer-by, police said.

Police identified the attacker as an Arab citizen of Israel, a former high school teacher who had been imprisoned over alleged links to Islamic State.

Israel foils weapons, drugs smuggling over Jordan-Israel border

JERUSALEM, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Israeli forces have thwarted attempted arms and drugs smuggling over the Jordan-Israel border, Israel's army said Thursday.

In the joint operation, military and police forces prevented the smuggling of 37 weapons and drugs worth 2.5 million shekels (770,000 U.S. dollars) from Jordan into Israeli territory, the army said in a statement.

Israel: personal archive of spy chief leaked on social media

17 March 2022; MEMO: An anonymous Telegram social media channel published a video on Wednesday containing the personal archive of the head of Israel's Mossad spy agency, David Barnea, local media have reported. The video included personal photographs and documents belonging to Barnea.

"We have got a small gift for the Mossad; 'With LOVE for David'. Happy Purim," wrote Open Hands, the tag on the otherwise anonymous channel. The Jewish holiday of Purim started last night.

Israeli Regime’s Websites Down Due To Large-Scale Cyberattack

JERUSALEM, Mar 15 (NNN-PNA) – Several Israeli regime’s websites went offline yesterday, due to a large-scale cyberattack, Israeli officials said.

A denial of service (DoS) attack has been identified, on a communications provider, which resulted in the prevention of access to a number of sites, “including government sites,” the Israel National Cyber Directorate said in a statement.

The attack took place between 18:15 (16:15 GMT) and 19:30 (17:30 GMT), the statement said, adding that, all sites have been restored and gone back online.

Israel: minister criticises hypocrisy over Jewish immigration

According to the minister, Ethiopian Jews who have been trying to flee their war-torn country do not enjoy the same sympathy in Israel enjoyed by Ukrainian Jews who are fleeing war in their country.

Palestinians: Israeli forces kill 2 in West Bank clashes

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and wounded several others during separate raids in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Tuesday.

Israel’s paramilitary Border Police said its forces came under attack while arresting suspected militants.

The health ministry said 16-year-old Nader Rayan was shot and killed, and three other Palestinians were wounded, in a raid in the Balata refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Israel PM asks Ukraine president to surrender to Russia

12 March 2022; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to surrender to Russian conditions to end the war in his country, Israeli media reported on Friday.

According to The Jerusalem Post, a Ukrainian official said Bennett asked Zelensky to accept the Russian conditions in a phone call conducted between the two on Tuesday.
