Israel’s Tel Aviv Mayor Announces Run For National Elections

JERUSALEM, Dec 30 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel’s Tel Aviv Mayor, Ron Huldai, announced, he is running in the upcoming elections and has established a new party.

In a televised press conference, Huldai said, “We will not get used to a prime minister under indictments. I decide that I can no longer stand on the side-lines.”

Netanyahu speaks with Morocco's king, invites him to Israel

26 Dec 2020; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Friday with Morocco's King Mohammed VI and invited him to visit Israel, Netanyahu's office said.

The two leaders spoke about moving forward with a US-brokered agreement announced earlier this month to normalise bilateral ties, according to the Israeli statement.

Netanyahu also thanked King Mohammed for hosting an official Israeli delegation this week.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Friday with Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and invited him to visit Israel, Netanyahu’s office said.

The two leaders spoke about moving forward with a U.S.-brokered agreement announced earlier this month to normalize bilateral ties, according to the Israeli statement.

Netanyahu also thanked King Mohammed for hosting an official Israeli delegation this week.

King Mohammed underscored the close ties between the Moroccan Jewish community and the monarchy, the Royal Court said in a statement.

Israel: Officials in probe into Netanyahu's corruption case resign

23 Dec 2020; MEMO: Members of the inquiry into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption case related to submarines and warships resigned yesterday over a jurisdiction dispute, local media reported.

The mission, which was tasked last month by Alternate Prime Minister and Defence Minister Benny Gantz to complete the mission, resigned, according to Haaretz, due to a dispute with Israel's Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit over the panel's jurisdiction.

Parliament dissolved, Israel heading to another elections

JERUSALEM, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Israel's parliament was dissolved on Tuesday night amid a political crisis between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main rival Benny Gantz, triggering the fourth elections in two years.

Israel's Knesset (parliament) was automatically dissolved after the government failed to approve the 2020 state budget by the deadline. Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin adjourned the last Knesset session and called lawmakers to "avoid incitement" during the upcoming campaigns.

The next elections are scheduled to take place on March 23.
