Israel supports Ukraine, refuses to supply Kiev with weapons, says defense chief

TEL AVIV, October 19. /TASS/: Israel, together with its NATO allies, supports Ukraine, but still has no intention to supply Kiev with weapons, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Wednesday at a meeting with EU envoys, the Defense Ministry’s press service reported.

Live fire being used by Israel against Palestinian protestors

Tension has been soaring across the Occupied Territories over recent weeks, with Jerusalem being the epicentre of riots between far-right Israeli settlers and armed Occupation soldiers on one side, and Palestinians resisting Occupation on the other.

One More Palestinian Killed In Palestinian-Israeli Clashes Across West Bank

JERUSALEM, Oct 13 (NNN-XINHUA) – Clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians broke out across the West Bank and East Jerusalem yesterday, killing another Palestinian youth.

The Israeli police said in a statement that, “hundreds” of Palestinians clashed with Israeli police in several neighbourhoods in East Jerusalem. The troops fired stun grenades and tear gas to disperse them.

Israel fast-tracks Lebanon maritime deal but lawmaker review looms

12 October 2022; MEMO: Israel's cabinet on Wednesday endorsed a US-brokered deal to delineate a maritime border with Lebanon, paving the way for a potentially fractious two-week parliamentary review before it goes into force, Reuters reports.

Lawmakers and a Parliamentary Committee will now have 14 days to review details of the deal before it again comes before the cabinet for a final vote, according to a statement from Prime Minister, Yair Lapid's office. This brings it close to a 1 November national election.

Israel court orders Netanyahu to repay $800,000 he received as 'gifts'

11 October 2022; MEMO: The Israeli High Court of Justice on Sunday ordered opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu to repay $270,000 he received illegally from his late cousin Nathan Milikowsky.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the High Court of Justice ruled that the money, intended for Netanyahu and his wife's legal defence, was given to the former prime minister because he was a public official. As a result, the court said, it was against Israel's gift laws.

Israel is the fifth worst country to work in the world: Report

12 October 2022; MEMO: Israel has been ranked as the fifth worst country in the world to work in, according to a report by the international insurance firm, William Russell.

The firm compiled a list of countries with the least favourable employment conditions, ranking each based on a score from 0 to 10.

The report explained that the average person in Israel works extremely high working hours, resulting in almost 36.6 hours per week.
