5 former European foreign ministers accuse Israel of being 'apartheid state'

29 October 2022; MEMO: In an open letter, five former European ministers labelled Israel's policies against Palestinians as "the crime of apartheid", Anadolu News Agency reports.

"We see no alternative but to acknowledge that Israel's policies and practices against the Palestinians amount to the crime of apartheid," they said in a letter published by French daily, Le Monde, on Thursday.

25 October 2022; MEMO: Israel granted Energean permission to start production at the offshore Karish gas field on Tuesday, an Energy Ministry statement said, Reuters reports.

Energean has said its floating production storage and the off-loading vessel are due to start production at Karish in the third quarter but has not given a precise date.

On 9 October, the London-listed energy group began pumping gas to its floating production facility as part of reverse flow testing procedures.

Israel: Arabs gather in support of Sami Abu Shehadeh

24 October 2022; MEMO: Arab residents of Israel have attended massive gatherings in support of Sami Abu Shehadeh, head of the National Democratic Assembly (Balad).

The gatherings were organised in Um Al-Fahm, Baqa Al-Gharbiyyeh, Qafr Mandda and Jadeedat Al Makr, amongst others, with large numbers of people attending.

Attendees stressed their support for Abu Shehadeh and the National Democratic Assembly. They pledged to exert all possible efforts to ensure the party succeeds in the upcoming elections.

Israel: Lapid to blame for rising prices in Israel; Netanyahu

24 October 2022; MEMO: Former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, yesterday accused the current Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, of "deteriorating Israel's security and economy."

Criticising Lapid, Netanyahu told reporters that Lapid did not have "expertise in running the economy," warning that Israelis were the "ones paying the price."

"The cost of living in Israel skyrocketed this year…people are not making a living and the government seems to not care," he added.

IsraeL Tens of thousands of live bullets stolen from military base

22 October 2022; MEMO: Tens of thousands of live bullets were stolen on Wednesday from the Be'er Sheva Airfield military base in the south of Israel, Israeli media reported on Friday.

Israeli reports stated that the rounds were stolen from the bunker at the base where the Givati ​​Brigade headquarters are located.

Israel will not send weapons to Ukraine: Gantz

20 October 2022; MEMO: Two days after Russia warned it would cut ties with Israel, Defence Minister Benny Gantz reiterated that Tel Aviv would not send weapons to Ukraine, local media reported.

Ukraine, which has been in a war with Russia for eight months, has submitted a formal request urging Israel to send its air defence systems such as the Iron Dome.
