ISTANBUL, Nov 4 (APP): Pakistan on Thursday called for strengthening multilateralism that promotes collective security, and indiscriminate accountability of those violating the UN Security Council’s resolutions and international laws.

“We need to strengthen multilateralism that promotes collective security of everyone rather than pushing a zero-sum approach,” Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said in her address at 7th Istanbul Security Summit here, Turkish Anadolu Agency reported.

ISTANBUL, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police detained 17 suspects in Turkey's biggest city Istanbul for an attempted attack on a crew member of the U.S. Navy, the Istanbul Governor's Office announced on Wednesday.

The office said in a written statement that the suspects tried to put a sack over the crew member's head of a naval ship of the U.S. Navy, which recently anchored on Istanbul.

It noted that the incident occurred during a city tour, and "the suspects were detained upon the order of the chief public prosecutor's office."

ANKARA, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Turkey cannot be blamed for Ukraine's deployment of Turkish-made drones, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was cited as saying on Sunday.

On Wednesday, the Kremlin said the drones risked having a destabilising impact in eastern Ukraine, after Kyiv deployed a Bayraktar TB2 drone to hit a position controlled by Russian-backed separatists there. 

"If a state is buying these from us, that is no longer a Turkish product," Cavusoglu told reporters after meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the G20 summit in Rome late on Saturday.

The heads of both Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and Dionysus, the god of wine, were discovered, excavation coordinator Gokhan Coskun told Anadolu Agency.

30 Oct 2021; AA: Turkey on Saturday condemned the US extradition of Hampig Sassounian, an Armenian origin who assassinated a Turkish diplomat in Los Angeles in 1982.

Turkey learned that Sassounian was “deported to a third country,” said a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

ISTANBUL (AP) — A minibus carrying foreign tourists crashed near the southern Turkish resort of Antalya on Saturday, killing a Swedish national and injuring five others, state broadcaster TRT News reported.

The 71-year-old Swede died at the scene of the crash in Aksu in the early hours of the morning, TRT said. Four Danish nationals and the Turkish driver were hurt when the minibus hit roadside barriers.

The driver was detained by police after hospital treatment.
