Palestine: Settlers strike 4-year-old Palestinian on the head with rocks

30 Sep 2021; MEMO: A four-year-old Palestinian suffered head injuries on Tuesday after illegal Israeli settlers threw rocks at Palestnians in the occupied South Hebron Hills.

Muhammad Hamamdeh was injured after being hit on the head with a stone which had been thrown by the settlers, he was transferred to the Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba where he received treatment for a fractured skull.

Palestine’s Tourism Sector Sees Loss Of Over One Billion USD Since COVID-19 Outbreak

RAMALLAH, Sept 28 (NNN-WAFA) – The loss in the tourism sector in Palestine has exceeded one billion U.S. dollars, since the outbreak of COVID-19 in its territories, an official report published yesterday said, on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

The report, jointly published by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and the ministry of tourism and antiquities, added that, the performance of the tourism sector in Palestine, keeps deteriorating due to the COVID-19, especially in the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

PA welcomes UK Labour Party's motion on Israeli 'apartheid'

28 Sep 2021; MEMO: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the passing of a motion at the UK Labour Party conference on Monday that recognised Israel as an "apartheid" state and called for sanctions against it, as well as the immediate recognition of Palestine, Wafa news agency has reported.

Palestine: Hamas will avenge Palestinians killed by Israel army in the West Bank

27 Sep 2021; MEMO: Deputy chairman of Hamas political bureau, Saleh Al-Arouri, said yesterday that the movement will not be silent about the Israeli army's murder of five Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, adding that their blood "will not be in vain".

"Every drop of the martyrs' blood will have a price," Al-Arouri said in a statement posted on the group's website.

Palestinians urge Sudan to hand over confiscated assets

GAZA, Sept 25 (Reuters) - The Palestinian Authority urged Sudan's government on Saturday to hand over assets it has seized as part of a crackdown targeting Sudan-based operations to fund the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Sudan was long an ally of Hamas under former President Omar al-Bashir, but since he was overthrown in 2019, Sudanese authorities have taken control of investments and companies they say channelled funding to the Islamist group for years. 

Denmark signs $72m grant to Palestine

25 Sep 2021; MEMO: Denmark has provided Palestine with a  $72 million grant to support its efforts to reach independence. The funds will be spent on local government, agriculture, civil society and in other fields.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Finance, Shukri Bishara, and Denmark's Representative to Palestine, Ketil Karlsen, signed the deal today in Ramallah, during which PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh was also in attendance along with the ministers of agriculture and local government.
