India: Estimated cost for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya Rs 1,800 crore: Trust

Ayodhya (UP), Sep 12 (PTI) An estimated cost of Rs 1,800 crore will be incurred to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya, officials of the trust responsible for the construction of the structure has said.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, formed on the Supreme Court's orders for the construction of the temple, approved its rules and manual after a marathon meeting here on Sunday.

India: Youth arrested for raping minor in UP's Mau

Chitrakoot (UP), Sep 11 (PTI) A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in a village in the Mau area here, police said on Sunday.

Senior Sub Inspector, Mau police station, Kamlesh Kumar said the incident took place on Saturday when Akhilesh Pasi (21) lured the girl by offering her biscuits and took her to his house and raped her.

The accused later fled from the spot.

After registering the FIR, the accused was arrested and the girl has been sent for a medical examination.

India: Dalit girl gang-raped, set afire in UP

Pilibhit (UP), Sep 11 (PTI) A Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped and set on fire by two men here, police said on Saturday.

The 16-year-old girl is undergoing treatment at the district hospital and is in a "serious condition", Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Prabhu said.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident, police said, adding the accused first raped the girl and then tried to kill her by setting her afire after pouring diesel on her.

India: 16-yr-old Dalit girl gang-raped in UP

Pilibhit, Sep 12 (PTI) Two people were booked for allegedly raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl in a village here, police said.

The incident took place around 4 am on Sunday, they said.

In his police complaint, the minor's father alleged that the accused, who belong to the same village, took his daughter to a field and raped her, Station House Officer (Jahanabad) Prabhas Chandra said.

India: 30-year-old man brutally murdered in his house

Kanpur: A 30-year-old man was allegedly killed by his elder brother in the Ghagghu Kheda village under the limits of Maharajpur police station here.

The police identified the deceased as Shiv Bahadur, son of Jagdish Yadav, as reported.

Family members informed the police after they found the body of Shiv with serious injury marks lying on the cot in the verandah of his house on Sunday.

Accused Dhananjay Singh, after committing the murder, escaped on a bike from the spot.

The deceased Shiv Bahadur was a lawyer and used to practice in the Kanpur court.

India: Man booked for raping Class 2 student in UP's Ballia

Ballia (UP), Sep 10 (PTI) A 25-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in the Nagra area here, police said on Saturday.

The accused lured the girl when she was playing outside, took her to his house on a motorcycle and raped her, they said, adding the incident took place on September 5.

India: Head constable beaten up in Lichchavi Express, one held

Kanpur: There was disarray in the pantry car of the Lichchavi Express coming from New Delhi to Kanpur when the vendors thrashed the head constable.

At the Central railway station, the GRP apprehended a vendor from Bihar and started an investigation.

Head constable Ikhlaq Khan, posted in Ghaziabad, was coming here from New Delhi on Saturday by Lichchavi Express with his daughter.

He told the GRP in Kanpur Central that the vendors and workers in the pantry car of the train were beating up a young man badly.

India: Closure of 52 leather units built near Chakeri airport suggested

Kanpur: Preparations have begun to shut down 52 illegally settled leather industries near Chakeri Airport here.

The Air Force had objected that the number of birds was increasing due to the leather industries, which could affect the air services.

DM Visakh Ji held a meeting with various departments and ordered the Pollution Control Board to investigate.

In the investigation, it was found that industries started setting up there without environmental clearance.

India: Fire NOC vital for running hospitals, hotels & factories in Kanpur Dehat

Kanpur: Firefighting systems have been tested in large factories in the Kanpur Dehat district. According to the news, about 20 factories do not have No-Objection Certificates.

Reacting to this lapse, the chief fire officer Surendra Singh said that the notices will be issued to 13 hotels and four private hospital operators.

At the same time, instructions have been given to factory operators to make arrangements for fire fighting, added the officer.
