Union of Muslim Scholars condemns escalating UAE normalisation with Israel

15 June 2020; MEMO: Secretary-General of International Union for Muslim Scholars, Ali Qaradaghi, condemned on Saturday escalating UAE normalisation with Israel.

On Twitter, the officials wrote: “We are still with justice and against oppression,” referring to the prisoners inside the UAE’s prisons. “Stop oppression and aggression,” he added.

“You hug the sons of Zion and humiliate the true believers.”

US Ambassador says Israeli leaders have failed to reach annexation agreement

15 June 2020; MEMO: The US Ambassador to Israel, David M Friedman, and Israeli leaders failed to reach agreement on the annexation plan at a meeting yesterday, local media have reported. Friedman is known to support Israel’s illegal settlements built on Palestinian land.

Russia supports black community’s struggle for equal rights: Pres Putin

MOSCOW, June 15 (NNN-Xinhua) — Russia has always supported the black community’s struggle for equal rights but is against violent demonstrations, President Vladimir Putin has said.

Russia now has, and the Soviet Union in the past had, always backed “the fight of African Americans” for their rights, Putin said in an interview with the “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” TV program aired on Sunday.

If the struggle for natural rights, for legal rights, turns violent and brutal, then “I see nothing good for the country here. We have never supported that,” he added.

Israel Advances New Golan Settlement Named After Trump

JERUSALEM, June 15 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel started on Sunday, preparations for building a new settlement in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights named after U.S. President, Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said.

Cabinet ministers ratified a decision to establish the new settlement, named “Ramat Trump” in Hebrew, meaning “Trump Heights,” according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

“Today, we will begin practical steps in establishing the community of Ramat Trump on the Golan Heights,” Netanyahu told the cabinet.

Massive protest against Israel demolition of Islamic cemetery in Yafa

14 June 2020; MEMO: Hundreds of Palestinian residents of the city of Yafa organised a protest on Tuesday against the Israeli demolition of a historic Islamic cemetery, Anadolu Agency reported.

Protestors performed the Friday prayer and started a march condemning the Israeli decision to demolish the Islamic Al-Isaaf Cemetery located in the north of the city of Yafa.

India: SC restrains HP police from arresting journalist Vinod Dua

New Delhi, Jun 14 (PTI) In a relief to journalist Vinod Dua, the Supreme Court in a special hearing on Sunday restrained the Himachal Pradesh police from arresting him till July 6 in a sedition case lodged against him in the state over his Youtube show.

The top court said that Dua will have to join the investigation and there shall be no stay on the ongoing probe undertaken by the Himachal Pradesh police.

King calls on Malaysians to pray for Palestinians’ wellbeing

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia’s King, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has called on all Malaysians to pray for the wellbeing of Palestinians.

Istana Negara’s Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, said His Majesty had also expressed his deep concern and support for the Palestinian cause.

U.S. Sanctions Against ICC Officials Widely Criticised

THE HAGUE, June 14 (NNN-AGENCIES) – The international community bashed U.S. sanctions against International Criminal Court (ICC) officials, investigating possible war crimes by U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

The White House said, U.S. President, Donald Trump authorised economic sanctions against ICC officials “directly engaged with any effort to investigate or prosecute United States personnel, without the consent of the United States,” as well as, the expansion of visa restrictions against these officials and their family members.
