India: Muslim party seeks review of Ayodhya verdict, says Babri be rebuilt for justice

New Delhi, Dec 2 (PTI) A plea seeking review of the verdict which cleared the way for construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya was filed in the Supreme Court on Monday stating that "complete justice" could only be done by directing reconstruction of Babri Masjid.

A 5-judge bench, headed by the then Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, had in a unanimous verdict on November 9 decreed the entire 2.77 acre disputed land in favour of deity 'Ram Lalla' and also directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque in Ayodhya.

US Congresses passes Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act

Washington, Dec 4 (PTI) The United States Congress has passed the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act, which among other things, proposes that America redirects resources to address the mass internment of over 1,000,000 Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic minorities in China.

The move by the House of Representatives is expected to generate a sharp reaction from China.

Malaysia: Companies appointed by MITRA met all criteria – Waytha Moorthy

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (NNN-BERNAMA) — All the companies which have been tasked with providing skills training and job compatibility for participants from the B40 Indian group met with the criteria set by the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA).

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, P. Waytha Moorthy, is confident that these companies can carry out their responsibilities to achieve the objectives.

Libya GNA slams Haftar air strikes on Tripoli as war crime

03 Dec 2019; MEMO: The internationally recognised Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) has condemned air strikes launched by forces loyal to retired Major General Khalifa Haftar on the capital Tripoli saying they are “tantamount to war crimes”.

“These criminal and terrorist acts will not pass without a severe response on the battlefields,” the GNA said in a statement.

India: SIT begins probe into Kunduli gangrape by uniformed men

Koraput (Odisha), Dec 2 (PTI) A special investigation team (SIT), constituted by Orissa High Court to look into the probe by the state CID into the alleged gangrape at Kunduli which took place two years ago, began its probe here on Monday, officials said.

The HC had passed the order nearly two weeks ago and a three-member SIT was formed to look into the gangrape which allegedly took place in October 2017.

Vulnerable migrants brace for winter in dismal Greece camp

UN Senior Official Says Israeli Settlements Violate Int’l Law

BEIRUT, Dec 3 (NNN-NNA) – A UN senior official, said, Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine, constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

The remarks were made by Rola Dashti, executive secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA), during a celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, at ESCWA’s headquarters in Beirut.

Dashti also voiced commitment to safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people.

Hundreds rally in Myanmar to show support for Suu Kyi

Yangon, Dec 2 (AP/PTI) About 700 people rallied Sunday to show support for Myanmar's leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, as she prepares to defend the country against charges of genocide at the UN's highest court.

Members of Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party swelled the ranks in front of the colonial-era City Hall in Yangon, Myanmar's largest city, as the crowd waved national flags and listened to music and poetry.

A popular local singer told them Mother Suu is the bravest human being in the world her weapon is love.

India: Woman killed by in-laws over dowry demands

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Dec 2 (PTI) A woman was allegedly killed by her in-laws over dowry demands in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

According to a complaint lodged by the father of the victim, she was being harassed by her husband and in-laws since she got married three months ago, they said.

The woman was found hanging from the ceiling of her room in her in-laws' house, Subhash Singh Rathor, the station house officer of Thana Bhaean police station, said.
