4 June 2019; MEMO: European Muslims have called on King Salman bin Abdulaziz to grant amnesty to three preachers currently awaiting execution. News reports suggest that the preachers, Salman Al-Awdah, Awad Al-Qarni, and Ali Al-Omari, could be put to death at the end of Ramadan.

The call came at the European Muslim Forum, held in the city of Sliema, in Malta, on Sunday.

3 June 2019; MEMO: Qatar on Sunday condemned the Israeli attacks on worshippers at the east Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, reports Anadolu Agency.

The foreign ministry added in the statement that the attacks on worshippers and religious sites are “clear provocation to the feelings of Muslims”.

It also called on the international community to carry out its moral and legal responsibilities to stop the repeated Israeli attacks and provide the necessary protection for Muslim worshippers.

4 June 2019; DW: A 1,200-page report was released Monday detailing a Canadian government inquiry into thousands of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls. It concluded that the deaths and disappearances of the women in recent decades constituted a "national genocide." 

The report, titled "Reclaiming Power and Place," was the result of a national inquiry commissioned by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2016.

"We and Bahujan Samaj Party will fight for social justice together," said Yadav, addressing a public meeting here during his first visit to the constituency after declaration of the Lok Sabha poll results.

3 June 2019; MEMO: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the US’ Palestine-Israel peace plan arguably “unexecutable” in a private meeting with Jewish leaders on Tuesday. In an audio recording of the meeting obtained by the Washington Post, Pompeo expressed his scepticism of the secret plan, due to be revealed in a few weeks in Bahrain, saying that it might not “gain traction” and could be seen as “not particularly original”.

3 June 2019; AFP: The execution of nine French jihadists on death row in Iraq would be a disgrace for France and leave an "indelible stain" on the mandate of President Emmanuel Macron, a group of prominent French lawyers said Monday.

With controversy growing in France over the sentences handed out to the nine for joining the Islamic State (IS) extremist group, the 40 lawyers urged Paris to keep the men alive, irrespective of their crimes.

3 June 2019; DW: A group of lawyers have asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to open a case against the European Union over its migration policy, according to a request submitted on Monday.

Although ICC prosecutors are already gathering evidence about crimes against refugees in Libya, the document goes a step further by arguing that the EU and member states are also largely to blame for migrant deaths on land and at sea.

WASHINGTON, June 3. /TASS/: US President Donald Trump called on Russia, the Syrian authorities, and Iran to stop bombing the territory of the Syrian province of Idlib.

Since the evening of May 21, militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist grouping outlawed in Russia) have been launching massive attacks in the southern portion of the Idlib de-escalation zone on the government troops’ positions, using the armor, multiple launch rocket systems and suicide bombers’ vehicles.

London, Jun 2; PTI/GANASHAKTI: Pakistani-origin London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump, on Sunday branded the US President as one of the "fascists of the 20th century" and said Britain should not be rolling out a red carpet to a leader like him for a state visit to the UK.

Trump, along with his wife Melania and his adult children, will be a guest of Queen Elizabeth II during his three-day official visit to the UK starting Monday. The visit is expected to provoke massive protests in London on Tuesday.
