There are numerous instances, wherein a coordinated and organized attempt to vitiate inter-faith relations has been observed. The tactics employed in this regard are predictable – use of unrelated images and/or videos, or through provocative text.

Russia welcomes tough Turkish position in response to US pressure

Indian security forces kill 2 Kashmiri in Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir

Kashmir, Apr 13: Two Kashmiri separatists were killed by Indian security forces in Shopian district of Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The slain Kasmiris have been identified as Abid Wagay, a resident of Rawalpora Shopian, and Shahjahan Mir from Amshepora Shopian.

Californian city mayor urges Trump to stop "fanning hate"

SAN FRANCISCO, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The mayor of the U.S. city of Oakland on Saturday urged President Donald Trump to stop "fanning hate" over his disputed immigration policy.

"It's time to stop fanning hate and division @realDonaldTrump - I've been consistent and clear: #Oakland welcomes all, no matter where you came from or how you got here," mayor Libby Schaaf said on Twitter.

Palestinian president slams U.S. Mideast peace plan for excluding Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas slammed on Saturday the Middle East peace plan that the United States intends to declare soon for excluding Jerusalem, the official Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.

"The Palestinian cause is passing through difficult circumstances, but the Palestinian people and their leadership are on a level of responsibility," said Abbas during his meeting with the new government in Ramallah.

Tens of civilians reached a crossing point in the Syrian desert on Saturday from the rebel-held Rukban refugee camp in southeastern Syria.

Democrats defend Omar after Trump retweets video against her

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top Democrats on Saturday rushed to defend Rep. Ilhan Omar after President Donald Trump retweeted video that was edited to suggest she was being dismissive of the significance of the worst terrorist assault on U.S. soil.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi scolded Trump for using the “painful images of 9/11 for a political attack” against the first-term Minnesota Democrat.

India: Applied for but did not receive Voter's I-card, say applicants

Kanpur: Those applicants who filled up the Form-6 are now bemoaning at their bad luck. They did not find the Voter's identity card yet. The elections are not too far away and complaints and contacts were of no value. The electoral list is printed already. 

Those first timer voter who received their card are feeling great. One girl who applied first time got the coloured identity card told the girl in her neighbour about her ID. This led the girl to apply online despite the date was over. 

India: Woman sets self on fire over dowry dispute, dies

Gorakhpur (UP), Apr 12 (PTI) A woman, allegedly fed up with dowry demands from her husband and in-laws, set herself on fire in Rajghat area here, police said Friday.

The woman's family, however, alleged her in-laws burnt her to death.

The woman in her 20s, Poonam Gupta, a resident of Laldiggi locality, was seen running in the street on Tuesday with her clothes set on fire. She was recorded in CCTV cameras in the area and the video later surfaced on social media.
