Kanpur: A hardware shop was burgled in a very vicious style. It was existing at a distance of only 100 mts from Maharajpur police station. The burglars were putting on a police uniform and helmet.

No arrest has been made so far. The Police are busy in solving the case on the clues received through the close circuit camera footage. The police station officer Raghvendra Singh told that the search of the burglars was going on the basis of CCTV footage.

Chitrakoot (UP), Oct 8 (PTI) A 38-year-old farmer allegedly hanged himself over financial problems in Tikratola village here, police said on Thursday.

Fatehpur (UP), Oct 9 (PTI) A Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in a village in Lilauli area here, police said on Friday.

"A 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two people in a village in Lilauli area on Thursday evening when she was returning home after attending nature's call," Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kumar said.

Acting on the victim's complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused -- Aman Yadav (25) and Guddu Yadav (24) and they have been arrested.

Kanpur: There was a competition to rob petrol flowing freely from a damaged tanker capsized on the highway near Barra on Friday morning.

The police used mild force to quell them away. The driver and the helper got injured badly. Both were sent to the Hallet hospital.

According to the reports, a tanker was coming from the filling station at Bhauti. Suddenly the tanker near Barra bypass elevated highway lost its control and hit a truck. Ultimately it banged with the bridge safety wall. As a result, the tanker turned upside down.

Aligarh, Oct 7 (PTI) A married woman was allegedly raped by four men on Wednesday when she had gone out to relieve herself in a field outside her village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district, police said.

A family member of the woman said the accused, who have been identified, also recorded the act and threatened her that they would circulate the video if she approached the police.

Noida (UP), Oct 7 (PTI) Aam Aadmi Party workers in Gautam Buddh Nagar have questioned the silence of Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission chief Vimla Batham over the Hathras case and demanded her removal from the post.

Around 50 AAP workers, including district unit president Bhupendra Jaduan, on Tuesday tried to gherao Batham's residence here over the issue but were stopped midway by police, party office-bearers said.

Lucknow, Oct 7 (PTI) The UP government has given an additional 10 days to the three-member SIT investigating the alleged gang rape and killing of a 19-year-old Dalit woman in Hathras as the "probe is not complete", a senior official said Wednesday.

The special investigation team, constituted on September 30 and led by Home Secretary Bhagwan Swarup, was initially given seven days to submit its report.

Fatehpur (UP), Oct 6 (PTI) A 60-year-old farmer killed himself Tuesday allegedly after stray cattle destroyed crop at his field in a village here, police said.

Harishchandra Nishad, a resident of Walipur Ramsagara village here, had left home early morning to guard his crop against stray cattle but he was found hanging from a tree in the field, Station House Officer of the Kishanpur police station Pandhari Saroj said.

His son Chavinath told police that Nishad was dejected after stray cattle destroyed the crop.
