Iran dismisses Israel report of capturing Iran agent; Nour News

30 June 2023; MEMO: Iran's state-run Nour News said on Friday Israel's report that it had foiled an attack in Cyprus by capturing an Iranian agent was an effort to cover up its own domestic crisis, Reuters reports.

Israel said on Thursday its Mossad intelligence service carried out an operation in Iran to capture the suspected leader of an Iranian plot to attack Israeli businesspeople in Cyprus.

Iranian president says Muslims won't condone desecration of Quran

TEHRAN, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Friday condemned the Quran-burning in Sweden, according to the official news agency IRNA.

In an address to worshippers in the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman, he said the desecration insulted the "most valuable divine book" and hurt the feelings of 2 billion Muslims, which global Muslim community will not condone.

Iran’s FM Says West’s Sanctions Harm Iranian Victims Of Chemical Attacks

TEHRAN, Jun 29 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister said yesterday that, the West has kept harming Iranian victims of chemical warfare through sanctions, that block access to essential medicine, more than three decades, after Iraq dropped chemical bombs at Iranian cities.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a message to mark the 36th anniversary of Iraq’s chemical attack at Iran’s Sardasht, according to a statement published on the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website.

Qatar Released Seven Iranian Prisoners: Iranian Envoy

TEHRAN, Jun 28 (NNN-IRNA) – Qatar has released seven Iranian nationals, imprisoned in the country, said Iranian Ambassador to Doha, Hamid Dehghani, yesterday.

“Seven Iranian nationals were released today (yesterday) and transferred to their home country onboard a flight,” said Dehghani in a Twitter post.

Six of the seven released nationals had been detained for illegal entry into Qatar’s territorial waters, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

Iran, UAE Vowed To Strengthen Coordination, Elevate Cooperation Level

Iran warns ships crossing Strait of Hormuz must introduce themselves in Persian

TEHRAN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- A top Iranian commander said on Friday that any ship seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz must inform Iran of its name, nationality and cargo in Persian language, official news agency IRNA reported.

Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks at a commemoration ceremony held in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, warning that if a passing vessel refrains from providing the required information, Iranian naval forces will take necessary action against it.

Iran, Uzbekistan sign cooperation agreements

TEHRAN, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Uzbekistan on Sunday signed 10 cooperation agreements and one joint statement in Iran's capital Tehran, according to the website of the Iranian president's office.

The agreements, including cooperation in transportation, pharmaceutical production, insurance, trade, technology, and agriculture, were signed by the two countries' high-ranking officials in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his visiting Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Border guards smash armed terrorists in SE Iran

TEHRAN, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Iran's border guards smashed a group of armed terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.

The terrorists sought to enter Iran through its southeastern border, but were ambushed by Iranian border guards, Mehr quoted Reza Shojaei, commander of Sistan and Baluchestan's border police, as saying, without detailing their affiliation.

One terrorist was killed and a number of them were injured in the operation that involved an exchange of fire between the two sides, he said.
