India: Teenaged girl found dead in UP's Lakhimpur Khiri

Lakhimpur Khiri (UP), Sep 6 (PTI) A 14-year-old girl was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a village here on Sunday, police said.

They said the body was found hanging from the thatched roof of a house with a scarf.

Lakhimpur Khiri SP Satendra Kumar Singh, Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh and Mitauli Circle Officer Shitanshu Kumar rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and carried out initial investigations.

The officials talked to the parents and other family members of the gir,police said.

India: UPMRC & NN ponder over use of extracted ground soil

Kanpur: How will the ground soil being dug up to lay underground metro track from Motijheel to Transport Nagar be used? This question disturbs the authorities concerned after the UPMRC has sped up its work on the city's second priority path.

As the work is in progress the dust on the road near Motijheel remains visible. It is being supposed that as many as 5 Lakh cubic meters of soil will be taken out by the help of tunnel boring machine.

When the UPMRC officials contacted the Nagar Nigam engineers, the proposals started coming.

India: 20-yr-old woman raped by man in UP's Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 5 (PTI) A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar when she had gone to collect wood with her mother in a forest, police said on Saturday.

According to a complaint lodged by the woman's mother, the incident took place on Friday. Two bike-borne men forcibly took the woman to a nearby sugarcane field, where Salman allegedly raped her.

India: Trains running towards Mumbai to get speed

Kanpur: In order to provide speed to the trains diverting towards Mumbai, the Northern Central Railways has decided to move forward in the direction of erecting elevated track following the apex court's order.

Dwelling upon the court's direction the DRM Amitabh Kimar, Prayagraj Division, said that the illegal mud huts would be removed along the railway track in Kanpur Section. The assistance of district administration will also be taken in this drive.

India: Police bust fake call centre in UP's Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Sep 2 (PTI) The Indira Puram police here claimed to have busted a fake call centre, which was allegedly duping youth who lost their jobs during the coronavirus lockdown.

Police also arrested a man, identified as Sumit Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anshu Jain said, adding that his two accomplices Vikas and Ankit managed to escape.

India: 14-year-old raped in UP's NOIDA

Noida (UP), Sep 2 (PTI) A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida and the accused has been arrested, police said.

The incident took place at the rented accommodation of the accused, around 22, in a village under the Beta 2 police station limits around 12 pm, police said.
