Israel rules no officer will be punished for beating pallbearers at journalist Abu Akleh's funeral

16 June 2022; MEMO: Israeli authorities have refused to disclose the details of an internal investigation into misconduct by occupation forces during Palestinian-American Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh's funeral.

Despite learning that Israeli forces had attacked the pallbearers as the procession during Abu Akleh's funeral travelled through occupied East Jerusalem, the investigation concluded that no officer is to be punished.

Germany: Over 800 mosques attacked since 2014: Rights group

17 June 2022; MEMO: More than 800 mosques in Germany have been the targets of threats and attacks since 2014 but, in most of the cases, the crimes were not properly investigated, according to Brandeilig, an initiative of rights group FAIR International, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The group, which has founded Germany's first reporting centre for attacks on mosques, recorded nearly 840 incidents of attacks, vandalism and threats between 2014 and 2022.

Russia expresses 'deep concerns' over settler takeover of Christian land in Jerusalem

16 June 2022; MEMO: Russia said yesterday that it was "deeply concerned" by an Israeli court's decision allowing Jewish settler groups to purchase Christian property in Jerusalem.

Early this month, Israel's High Court ruled in favour of settler group Ateret Cohanim, which takes over Palestinian lands from Muslims and Christians in occupied Jerusalem and gives it to Jews in an attempt to change the city's identity.

Israel transfers 14 yr boy to hospital after mental health deterioration

15 June 2022; MEMO: The Israel Prison Service on Monday transferred detained Palestinian minor Ahmad Manasra to Ramle Prison Hospital after his mental health deteriorated, his defence team disclosed.

"The Israeli prosecution informed us that the Israeli Prison Service transferred the child prisoner Ahmad Manasra last night to Ramle Prison Hospital due to his deteriorating mental health condition, without disclosing further details," Ahmad's lawyer Khaled Zabarka announced in a short statement.

23 May 2022; MEMO: The Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi, has pledged to finance the reconstruction of Al-Jalaa Tower. The tower block, which housed a number of major media companies, was destroyed by Israeli bombs a year ago.
