UN Security Council must be reformed: Erdogan

25 Oct 2019; MEMO: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Thursday the reform of the UN Security Council, which is committed to the will of its five permanent members, is now a necessity rather than a need, Anadolu reports.

Erdogan highlighted this point in a message on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the UN.

India: SC asks J&K HC to expeditiously decide plea on detention of NRI businessman

New Delhi, Oct 24 (PTI) The Supreme Court asked the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday to "expeditiously" pass order on a petition seeking directions to the authorities to produce before it some persons, including an NRI businessman, detained following the abrogation of provisions of Article 370.

The apex court, which was hearing a plea filed by the wife of a Malaysia-based NRI businessman against detention of her husband, said this after it was informed that the high court has reserved its order on the plea pending before it.

USA: Congregations, community to commemorate synagogue terror attack

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A virtual remembrance, an overseas concert and community service projects highlight the many plans for commemorating the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history on the shooting’s one-year anniversary Sunday.

The attack killed 11 worshippers and wounded seven at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

MyAQSA Gathers Evidence To Drag Israel To International Criminal Court

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), Oct 24 (NNN-Bernama) — The MyAQSA Foundation (MyAQSA) has gathered evidence and statements from witnesses to be submitted to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutors at the end of this year to allow Israel to be charged with crimes against humanity.

MyAQSA special delegation head Lukman Sheriff Alias said during a meeting in The Hague in May, the ICC had recommended for the gathering of evidence and witnesses that could be used to drag Israel to the court.

Israel issues 140 demolition orders for Arabs in Negev

24 Oct 2019; MEMO: Teams of Israel’s Authority for Development and Settlement of Bedouin and the Land Administration broke distributed 140 demolition orders to homes and a mosque in Rahat, Safa news agency reported yesterday.

All of the houses are owned by the families of Al-Atayqa and Al-Buhairi, who have been living in them for more than 70 years; before the creation of the occupation state of Israel.

India: Telephone tapping allowed only in case of public emergency: HC

Mumbai, Oct 22 (PTI) Telephone tapping is permissible only in situations of public emergency or in the interest of public safety, the Bombay High Court held on Tuesday and quashed orders passed by the Union Home Ministry allowing agencies to intercept phone calls of a businessman booked by the CBI in a bribery case.

A division bench of Justices R V More and N J Jamadar was hearing a petition filed by the businessman, Vinit Kumar, challenging the three orders, passed between October 2009 and February 2010, that allowed tapping of his phone calls.
