India: E-rickshaw driver hacked to death in UP's Murad Nagar

Ghaziabad, Feb 19 (PTI) An e-rickshaw driver was hacked to death by a sword-wielding unidentified man in Murad Nagar town of the district, police said.

The e-rickshaw driver, identified as Aas Mohammad, a resident of Jalalabad village near Murad Nagar, was intercepted by a man wearing black clothes on Nullah Road in his village and was attacked repeatedly with a sword, Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police (Rural) Iraj Raja said.

India: Offline classes help grasp lessons more easily

Kanpur: The junior students have started attending classes in the school. The schools are giving both the options viz offline and online classes respectively. 

What was your experience on the first day of classes in school? Quickly responding one student told it was quite good. Offline classes provide a clear understanding of the lessons.

Just on the entry of the school gate, sanitiser is sprinkled and later fever is checked. Thereafter, the teachers note down the temperature in the register. After all these formalities a student enters the classroom. 

India: Tablighi Jamaat case: UP court acquits 17 including 7 foreign nationals

Lucknow, Feb 18 (PTI) A court here discharged 17 alleged Tablighi Jamat members, booked early last year for various offences during the COVID-19 lockdown, of all charges, saying there was no prima facie evidence on record to make them stand trial.

Out of the 17, seven are Indonesian nationals.

India: 2 dalit tennage sisters found dead in a field, 1 hospitalised in UP

New Delhi, Feb 18 (PTI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday hit out at the Uttar Pradesh government over the issue of women safety, after two teenage girls were found dead in a field in Unnao.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government is not only suppressing the Dalit society but is also crushing the honour and human rights of women in the state.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said the Unnao incident is heart-wrenching.

When the schools begin offline classes with a strict rule of the mask, sanitiser and separate water bottle, the consent letter by the parents became a matter of utmost significance. It was first accepted on the format issued by the school staff. Later the students were told to bring a handwritten consent letter signed by the parents.

India: Bodies of two minor Dalit girls found in field in UP

Unnao (UP), Feb 17 (PTI) The bodies of two minor Dalit girls were found in a field here on Wednesday, police said.

Three minor girls were found in the filed in the evening by the villagers when they did not return after they left their house to bring fodder for the cattle, they said.

The villagers informed the police and rushed the girls to a hospital, where two of them were declared brought dead while one was taken to the Unnao hospital for treatment, they said.

India: Bag containing Rs 1.4 cr cash found inside train

Kanpur, Feb 17 (PTI) An unclaimed bag containing cash worth around Rs 1.4 crore was found in the Swatantrata Sangram Senani special train, a senior official said on Wednesday.

The recovery was made on Tuesday while the train was on its way to Jaynagar in Bihar from Delhi, said Railway's Deputy Chief Traffic Manager, Himanshu Shekhar.

India: Mayawati hits out at UP govt over law & order

Lucknow, Feb 17 (PTI) BSP president Mayawati lashed out at the Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday for the spate of murders in the recent past, demanding that the ruling dispensation pay attention to law and order.

Mayawati said the BSP legislators had been directed to try and make the government accountable to the public for the "gross negligence and malicious actions" on the issue of crime and law and order, along with important issues of farmers and public interest.

India: CM Kejriwal to address farmers' protest at Meerut on Feb 28

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address a 'kisan mahapanchayat' at Meerut on February 28 in support of farmers protesting the Centre's new agri laws, the party said on Monday.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly come out in favour of the farmers protesting the new farms laws. Kejriwal has visited Delhi's Singhu border, a major protest site, twice and expressed his support to the farmers.
