India: Plea for removal of Mathura's Shahi Idgah mosque: Court issues notices

Mathura, Feb 7 (PTI) A Mathura court has issued notices to the Shahi Idgah Masjid management committee and others, seeking their stands on a fresh plea for the removal of a 17th-century mosque from near the birthplace of Lord Krishna in the Katra Keshav Dev temple complex here.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Dev Kant Shukla on Saturday issued notices after admitting the plea, ruling that the suit is "maintainable and hence admissible" for detailed hearing, District Government Counsel (Civil) Sanjai Gaur said.

India: Wide road reduces narrower on market day in Jajmau

Kanpur: A wider road on main Jajmau area does not find a crowd less space on Sunday being a holiday. The road connects the road leading up to the Circuit House and even farther towards the city's Mall Road.

The reason for the big crowd is the weekly market. It occupies the space by the pathway sellers who covers the vacant space on the roadside without caring of the hindrance to the smoother traffic. 

As a tradition of the weekly market goes on the jam occurs unnecessarily on the road. The sellers encroach the space on the road.

India: UP court orders police to file FIR against man accused of raping girl

Chitrakoot (UP), Feb 6 (PTI) Following the directives of a court here, police have registered a case against a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl, officials said on Saturday.

Bharatkoop Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Upadhyay said the case was registered on Friday, following the orders of Additional District Judge Pradeep Mishra on Thursday.

Citing the charge sheet, the SHO said the girl had gone to attend nature's call late on January 24, when the accused flashed a country-made pistol, dragged her to a field and raped her.

India: New railway station can wane traffic load on Kanpur Central

Kanpur: What was proposed on November 19, 2019, seems to have been talked over again by the Divisional level railway officers now.

To lessen the traffic load on Kanpur Central station, it was agreed to develop a new railway station at Juhi here.

The survey report was not completed due to Covid complications. Now, there is news of the proposed start of the survey on this idea.

It has also been reportedly cleared that the survey report after normalisation of the trains would be sent to the Headquarters.

India: Woman's headless body found in UP village field

Fatehpur (UP) Feb 6 (PTI) A headless body of an around 22-year-old woman was found in an agricultural field of a village under Asothar police station near here on Saturday, police said.

On being informed about the body, the police reached the village and sent the body for post-mortem, Fatehpur's Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.

The body was found lying around 200 metres from a canal, Thariyaon's Circle Officer Anil Kumar said.

India: Abducted 15yr old Jammu girl rescued from UP

Jammu, Feb 6 (PTI) A 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted four days ago here, was rescued from Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

Three accused, all hailing from Odisha, were arrested in this connection, a police spokesperson said.

He said a woman lodged a written complaint at police station Gangyal on the outskirts of Jammu on February 3, stating that her teenage daughter had gone missing during a visit to a food factory.

India: Rakesh Tikait calls on farmers for 'tractor revolution'

Ghaziabad, Feb 6 (PTI) Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday called on peasants across the country to join the tractor revolution as part of the ongoing protests at Delhi's borders against the new agri laws introduced by the Centre.

During a speech to supporters at the Ghazipur protest site, Tikait reached out to the farming community, many of whom especially in the Delhi-NCR region have been upset over the National Green Tribunal's ban on diesel vehicles, including tractors, that are over 10 years old.

India: Locals enjoy sunny weather after recent rains in Kanpur

Kanpur: The weather was sunny and bearable in the afternoon on Saturday. Though the maximum temperature was not too low and the cloud cover high on the sky was zero. The sunshine gave a good amount of heat in much colder weather.

Current weather recorded at 4 pm on Saturday remained at 22° Celsius. There was nothing that approved of clouds swimming in the sky. Sunshine was sufficient to provide energy to the residents.

The morning was not devoid of icy cold as the minimum temperature of the day was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius.

India: Forgetfulness takes children into its strange grasp

Kanpur: Whatever it may be, there is no certainty of anything. We think of the children falling ill owing to different reasons. Nobody can guess that a little girl could have a symptom of forgetfulness. Among three children one has been observed enduring the Alzheimer's, according to rough calculations. 

It was realised when those three children came to tuition class one five-year-old girl suddenly found her school bag was not on her back. She also learnt she had no book holding by her one hand.
