India: Students fearing too much about their final results in Kanpur

Kanpur: The examinees are worried as they are confused. The results are due on March 3 but anxiety persists among class 9 students at its zenith upon them.

The school has announced the day by its e-care messaging system.

Though the students are passing the time between to be or not to be, the school authorities are busy in ascertaining of dues clearance. The students are being informed for keeping the fee fully paid.

There are students who are fearing of the annual results and talking of remaining absent on the particular day for results.

India: Prank leads to death of 28-year-old compounder in Kanpur

Kanpur: Was It a straight prank that went absolutely wrong?

As reported, Amit Dubey, a 28-year-old compounder, attempted to scare his wife into submission by putting a noose around his neck.


The husband Amit had returned home in an inebriated state and his wife, Shweta, objected vehemently to his drinking habit.

After an argument, Amit locked the door from the inside and put a noose around his neck to scare his wife.

However, he lost his balance and the noose tightened ultimately around his neck.

India: British period's Ursula hospital completes 86 years of service

Kanpur: City's older Ursula Henry Horseman Hospital has completed its 86 years. It is one of the oldest hospitals of Kanpur.

Ursula Hospital got its name in year 1937 when the hospital was renovated and renamed.

It was established in the year 1870 as Sadar Dispensary. Henry Horseman, brother of British Officer Albert Francis Horseman, established this building as a large hospital.

He  also named the hospital after his wife, Ursula Horseman. Henry and Ursula married in  year1921 but she died in a plane crash in year1935.

India: Cantt Board polls in eight Wards to be held on Apr 30 in Kanpur

Kanpur: The Cantonment Board elections will be held in 8 Wards on April 30 this year after a gap of eight long years. As many as. 53,426 voters in all the eight wards will vote at nine places.

Candidates will be able to file their nominations from March 22.

The Board's PRO Amit Yadav said that all preparations have started in this regard.  Votes will be cast at the designated polling places on the scheduled date and time. All the information will be given to the contesting candidates in time.

India: Fire catches roadways bus on way to Delhi from Kanpur

Kanpur: Short circuit caused fire in the road- ways bus engine going to Delhi from city's Kidwai Nagar bus depot here on Wednesday.

According the news, the bus developed problem in engine near Sector 21 C Noida. The engine got so much heated that it began to spit out flames of fire.

Sensing the gravity of the situation the driver anyhow successfully parked the bus on one side of the road. 

He helped the passengers get down safely. The fire tender was called to douse the fire.

India: Neighbours' wives accuse each other's husbands of molesting them

Kanpur: In a bizarre incident here, wives of two neighbours have accused each other's husbands of raping them.

An FIR has registered by a woman who has accused a man of raping her. The wife of the accused has also filed an FIR against the husband of the first complainant.

Thus, The two women filed complaints against each other's husbands, alleging rape, within 38 hours.

Notably, th second complainant's husband has been arrested, while the spouse of the first complainant has reportedly not yet arrested.

India: Pathak assures strict action against guilty in Kanpur Dehat incident

Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has assured strict action against those found guilty in connection with the incident here. 

The two women allegedly died after they immolated themselves during an anti-encroachment drive.

He further said that a committee has been formed to investigate this matter.

A late-night discussion with the officials in this matter held with the top officials.

India: Wrong spelling printed on new jersey irks budding cricketers

Kanpur: Incorrect spelling printed on the new jersey does not appease young cricket players of a local team at all. However, they do not find it easy to complain.

They were appearing happier at getting new green-shaded jerseys. 

The number of sponsors has increased but inaccuracy spoils the beauty of the outfit.

Some suggested that there should be a correction. The players have still not approached sponsors as they are nowadays busy with their annual school exams.

India: Fluctuating Temperatures impact human life & crops

Kanpur: Rapidly raising difference between day and night temperatures remains not only risky for common man's bodily health but also impacts crops badly.

Giving information at this point, the CSA Agriculture & Technology' University's meteorological department head Dr SN Pandey lets out swiftly fluctuating mercury causes troubles both to humans and the crops as well.

The normal set temperature should be between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, but on Monday the difference was 20.

Husband's fresh statement brings twist in acid throwing case

Kanpur: There has been a new twist in the case of burning acid on husband on Saturday in Cooperganj here.

As soon as the wife went to jail, the husband retracted from his allegations.

He told the media that he had got scalded after hot water fell on him, the wife had not thrown acid, although the police had sent the wife to jail.

Dabbu Gupta, a resident of Cooperganj, on Saturday accused his wife Poonam of burning him by pouring acid on him.

On Dabbu's application, the police got her medical done and sent Poonam to jail on Sunday.
