Honduras to accept more asylum seekers under latest US immigration deal

NEW YORK, Sept 26 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Honduras signed a deal with the U.S. government on Wednesday that could push migrants who cross the country on the way to the United States back to seek asylum, in the latest bilateral deal with Central American countries aimed at curbing migration.

Wednesday’s “safe third country”-type deal is similar to agreements signed by El Salvador on Sept 20 and Guatemala on July 26. The countries have released few details about how the agreements would be implemented.

Israel arrests Palestine’s Jerusalem minister

25 Sep 2019; MEMO: Israeli forces detained Jerusalem Affairs Minister Fadi al-Hadami of the Palestinian Authority on Wednesday, according to an official statement, reports Anadolu Agency.

In a statement, the Jerusalem Affairs Ministry said Israeli forces raided the minister’s home and searched it before taking him into custody.

There was no comment from the Israeli military on the arrest.

India: BJP MLA Sengar's rape survivor discharged from AIIMS

New Delhi, Sep 19 (PTI) The Unnao rape survivor was discharged from the AIIMS in Delhi where she was admitted after she met with an accident, sources said on Wednesday.

The woman was admitted in AIIMS following an accident on July 28 and the family is under the CRPF security as per the Supreme Court's order.

She will be staying with her family in Delhi after Uttar Pradesh government said they wanted to reside in the national capital apprehending threat in their home state.

Kashmir: Shutdown enters 52nd day in Valley

Srinagar, Sep 25 (PTI) Normal life remained affected in the Kashmir Valley for the 52nd consecutive day on Wednesday with public transport off the roads even as few vendors set up stalls here, officials said.

Main markets and other business establishments continued to remain closed, However, few vendors set up stalls on the TRC Chowk-Lal Chowk axis here.

Public transport was largely off the roads, even as few inter-district cabs and auto-rickshaws were seen plying in some areas of the city, the officials said.

India: NRC will be implemented in WB : Kailash Vijayvargiya

Kolkata, Sep 25 (PTI) BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya Wednesday said that NRC will be implemented in West Bengal and not a single Hindu will have to leave the country.

Without naming the TMC, Vijayvargiya, who is BJP's Bengal minder, said certain political parties and politicians are trying to instill fear among the general people over NRC by spreading canards.

100 Corpses Of 1994 Rwandan Genocide Discovered In Kigali

KIGALI, Rwanda, Sept 25 (NNN-XINHUA) – Local Rwandan residents, discovered 100 corpses of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, in the capital city Kigali, a local official said.

Residents have started retrieving the unidentified corpses in Nyarugenge district, a suburb of Kigali, since Friday, after getting information from a genocide survivor, who lived in the area during the 100-day tragedy, an executive secretary of Rwezamenyo Stella Mbabazi told Xinhua.
