India: Tribal girl raped in UP's Bhadohi

Bhadohi (UP), Jun 24 (PTI) A four-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped at a village here, police said on Thursday and added that the local station house officer has been suspended for dereliction of duty.

Naresh Saroj (42) has been arrested in the case, they said.

The girl and her family members were sleeping under a shed on Wednesday night. Saroj picked her up from there and raped her at an agricultural field, police said.

The family found the girl in an unconscious state at the field on Thursday morning, police said.

India: SBSP to support SP candidates in zila panchayat polls

Ballia (UP), Jun 25 (PTI) The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, a former BJP ally, on Friday said it would support Samajwadi Party candidates in the election for the posts of zila panchayat chairman in Uttar Pradesh.

The national president of the party and former minister, Om Prakash Rajbhar, also alleged that the Yogi Adityanth government was fuelling the issue of religious conversion to divert people's attention from its failures.

India: Ganga river's water level rising, alert in Katri area

Kanpur: The water level of the Ganga river has been nearly touching the danger point. All the thirty sluice gates are opened.

Ganga river's upstream water level was recorded at a point of 112.200 metres while the downstream flow was reported at a point of 111.390 metres on Thursday.

The water from Haridwar and Narauna is being continuously released. As a result, the water level is spurting.

On June 24 from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. the quantity of water that has been released from Ganga Barrage was measured up to more than 4.13 Lakh cusec.

India: 4-yr-old Adivasi girl raped in UP's Bhadohi

Bhadohi (UP), Jun 24 (PTI) A four-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped in a village under Suryawa police station area here, police said on Thursday.

The accused, Naresh Saroj (42), has been arrested, they said.

The victim's family belonging to Musahar Basti was sleeping under the shed of a house to avoid rain when the accused picked up the girl and took her to an agriculture field where he raped her, station in-charge Pradeep Kumar said.

India: CSA students confuse about course completion & exams

India: 2 minor girls from UP taken to Hyderabad, raped

Ballia (UP), Jun 24 (PTI) Two minor girls from Uttar Pradesh were allegedly kidnapped and taken to Hyderabad where they were raped, police said on Thursday.

The girls, aged 12 and 16, are friends and belong to a village under Narhi police station area, Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Singh said.

Two days after they were abducted on June 14, the father of one of the girls lodged a kidnapping case. And, on Wednesday, the girls were found at the Bharauli intersection here, he said.

India: Yogi govt failed on all fronts: UP Cong

Lucknow, Jun 22 (PTI) The Congress on Tuesday alleged that the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has failed on all fronts.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Congress, the party's Uttar Pradesh unit chief Ajay Kumar Lallu said, "The Yogi Adityanath government in UP has failed on all the fronts. The government, which played with the lives of the people during the COVID-19 pandemic, has not completed even a single recruitment, and unemployment has reached its peak."

India: Mosque demolition: HC issues notice to ex-Barabanki SDM

Lucknow, Jun 22 (PTI) The Allahabad High Court Tuesday directed the respondents to file their responses within three weeks in connection with the demolition of a mosque at Barabanki on May 17.

The Lucknow bench of the HC also issued a notice to the then Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Ram Sanehi Ghat in Barabanki for his reply as malice was alleged against him.

It also granted a week to the petitioner for filing a rejoinder affidavit, fixing July 27 as the next date of hearing.
